Industry Qualifications (IQ) are delighted to announce that after extensive sector consultation, the entry criteria for the Level 7 Certificate in Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine has been updated to recognize Dental Hygienists, Dental Therapists and Paramedics.

Raymond Clarke, Chief Executive of IQ said “We are thrilled to have been part of making such an important change to the aesthetic qualification landscape within the UK. A standard approach to upskilling the competence of aesthetic practitioners from a range of backgrounds can only lead to improvements to patient safety”.

The president of the British Association of Cosmetic Dental Professionals Jane Reynolds said “The aim of the BACDP is to safeguard patient safety in the aesthetic medicine sector and is very pleased to be accepted by IQ and to be part of the role in standardizing of training across the new and growing sector of aesthetic medicine. This has been a long time coming. Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists have been carrying out injectables in aesthetic medicine since 2009 under the guidance of the General Dental Council”.
